This past week’s class was based around different platforms you can bring into the classroom for editing as well as organization. In addition to this, we also discussed the beneficial parts to social media and how it can create a community. I think it’s awesome how teachers have such a big community on social media. I have actually seen several tik toks on my for you page that are related to the teaching world. From humour to stories to fun activities to bring into the classroom. I think it’s awesome for teachers to use social media as a place to connect with one another, and to share ideas. The internet gives us the power to instantly connect with (pretty much) anyone, this is an idea that’s so normalized I tend to forget how incredible this ability is. I’m glad to see that teachers are utilizing this advantage in a positive way. I am also super interested in checking out the platforms Trello and Jamboard, but have not had a chance to yet. I now have some new Instagram and Twitter accounts to follow as well! I’m super grateful so far for this course as it’s modernized and is providing a ton of helpful resources.
