Today in class, we had a guest speaker who presented on social media, privacy and consent. Since I grew up in a generation where social media was just coming about, the clarity on consent and privacy for me, was muffled. When I first started out on social media, it seemed like there were no rules on what I could post and what I couldn’t in regards to consent. As I am entering my professional career, this lecture was extremely informative and eye opening. I will be taking time this week cleaning up my online appearance. Although I don’t have anything scandal worthy posted, I think it’s still important to go through and delete a lot of pictures of me as I want to make a good impression on future employers. It was good to be informed on the rules around consent and children in the school setting.
