So far learning the ukulele, to my surprise, has not been an easy task! I first struggled with properly tuning, it took me a long time to get it to sound good! I used an app called “Tuner ForUkulele”. From there I looked up tutorials on YouTube, and tried a few different ones. I learned the names of the strings, how to hold the instrument, strumming patterns (and where to strum), and one chord, B. I kind of struggled, and still am struggling with strumming smoothly without getting my fingers caught on the strings, I think I will finger pluck my first few songs while getting used to learning the ukulele. Last class, we went out into break out rooms with fellow peers who are learning the same instrument. I found this time super useful, as well as re assuring. A few of my peers also said they were having trouble with the strumming.
