This week in class we were given the opportunity to learn about audio, visual, and digital curation. A couple of the topics I found interesting to learn about were screen casting and closed captions. I recently did an assignment in EPHE, which I created a diagram of my activity and then used voice over to explain it. I think learning about screen casting, especially with today’s current events, is extremely helpful. I remember in high school I used Khan Academy to help me learn concepts in biology. I found this a great way to learn, and is definitely something to consider creating for my future teaching, especially if some students are working remotely. This week, I recorded a video of me cooking and was going to add a voiceover but decided against it and just added music instead. I think next week I will add a voice over.

The amount of times I have listened to a song or tv show to understand the words completely different than what was actually said, is too many to count. Turning on closed captions is extremely helpful. I’ve noticed recently that a lot of Tik Tok creators have included closed captions on their videos. I love this idea as it is making Tik Tok more inclusive.

Resources I want to make note of from this week: One note and google keep.
